Military Bio:

GOWDY, JOHN S., 58, of Gulfport, died Sunday (April 3, 2005) at Bay Pines VA Medical Center. He was born in Hartford, Conn., and came here in 1955 from Westerly, R.I. He was an Army veteran and served with the St. Petersburg 231st Army Reserves and was called up for active duty in Vietnam 1968-69. Survivors include three brothers, David, Potomac Falls, Va., James, St. Petersburg, and Mark, Sarasota. National Cremation Society, St. Petersburg.
