Richard W. Peterson Ph.D., MBA

Service in the 106th Infantry Division, 423 Infantry Regiment for almost entire time of military service. The 423rd was one of two infantry regiments surrendered by their commanders after being surrounded and cut off during the Ardennes campaign in Europe. Held in two German Stalags, 9B at Bad Orb, and 9A at Ziegenhain, Germany. Returned to the US in May 1945. Combat Infantry Badge, Bronze Star, ETO campaign medal with three battle stars, Prisoner of War Medal, Good Conduct medal, WWII Victory Medal.

Educated at Arizona State University with BS and MBA degrees. In commercial banking all of my life. Retired as President and CEO of the Continental National Bank in Nevada. Returned to academia to earn a Ph. D. in counseling psychology. Worked as a Readjustment counselor with the Veterans Administration for five years. Now conduct small private practice of psychotherapy.

Last ten years at University of Phoenix, San Diego CA as adjunct professor of business. Formerly adjunct professor at University of Nevada Las Vegas, National University, San Diego. Author of three books: Healing the Child Warrior about the long range problems of young soldiers; Photographs, Commentary and Maps of German Prison camps during WWII; and How to Live with Post Traumatic Stress – Yours or a loved ones, to be published in 2000.

Consultant to law firms in California, Nevada and Utah on banking matters. Considered an expert witness for testimony regarding ethical banking policies, practices and transactions.

Lecturer on Stress, and the Effects of Change, in the Transition Assistance Program and with retiring officers and non-coms at Marine Base, Camp Pendleton CA.

Awarded the Europakreuz (Cross of Euope) July 5, 1990 by the Deutches Komitee fur Europaische Zusammenarbeit der Kriegsteilnehmer und der Kriegsopfer (work for understanding between captor and prisoner) e.
