Military Bio:

Alfred Roy Darbyshire was with the 8th Air Force when he was shot down on July 12, 1944 over Germany. S/Sgt. Darbyshire was interned at Dulag Luft, near Frankfurt, Germany where he was interrogated for several weeks before he was sent to Stalag Luft 4. He was liberated on May of 1945 by the Russian Army, and had the opportunity of meeting the famed Marshall Zukoff.
Al was awarded the Air Medal, POW Medal, ETO, Good Conduct and several Sharp Shooters Medals.
